5 Things to Know About the Korean Lash Lift
- Technique matters as much as product selection.
- Lash health remains the priority.
- It offers more control for challenging lashes.
- Education is essential.
- It expands what is possible within lash lifting.
The Korean Lash Lift is gaining popularity as clients are looking for beauty treatments that enhance their features and give them a more natural look, with a more lifted, defined lash. For Estheticians, the Korean Lash Lift can be another tool in their lash lift toolkit by giving them more control and consistency in results for their clients. Skin Inc. spoke with Sol Menezes, Marketing Manager at Elleebana and Jennifer Blair, Co-Founder and CEO of Deka Lash.
“The Korean Lash Lift technique changes the approach by focusing on controlled softening first. This allows the artist to relax the natural lash structure before repositioning and setting the lashes into their final shape,” says Sol Menezes, Marketing Manager at Elleebana. “Instead of one standard application method, Korean Lash Lifting gives estheticians another tool to work with, especially for clients with stubborn, downward growing, or resistant lashes.”
The Approach
The Korean Lash Lift gives a softer, more natural looking lift, using specialized rods that lift the lash closer to the base, which creates the appearance of longer, more defined lashes.
Menezes says that Elleebana’s Korean Lash Lift training focuses on technique and education, with a course that teaches artists to how to assess the client’s natural lashes, understand different hair structures and select the right method for each client. The education is designed as advanced training for qualified lash lift artists.
Deka Lash was founded by Jennifer Blair with the aim of making lash extensions more accessible. The luxury lash studio began offering Korean Lash Lifts in May of this year and by mid-June, had performed more than 1,500 services nationwide. Blair says that client consultation is key to determining whether a client should receive the treatment.
AFTER CARE
After care plays an important role in the maintenance of a Korean Lash Lift.
Blair says that estheticians should inform their clients on post care, which include avoiding water, steam and excessive moisture for the first 24 hours, as well as guidance on maintaining lash health and maximizing the longevity of their results. She says when it comes to maintenance of the Korean Lash Lift, most clients return every six to eight weeks, depending on their natural lash growth cycle and desired look. She says that lash professionals can consult their clients to determine an ideal maintenance schedule.
Menezes says that clients should avoid excessive moisture and heavy products around the lashes during the initial setting period. She says clients should also avoid rubbing or pulling their lashes. She adds that the main focus should be to follow the recommended after care instructions during the initial period after treatment to protect the final result and allow the lift to settle.
“Long-term care focuses on keeping lashes hydrated and conditioned with professional aftercare products. Healthy lashes respond better to future treatments and help clients maintain beautiful results throughout the lash cycle,” Menezes says.
