Glycolic acid is a common ingredient that can be found in many skin care products that work to help resurface and exfoliate the skin for a smoother and brighter look. So, how does this help fight body odor?
Well, AHAs tend to be acidic, like a deodorant, and can make the armpit too acidic for odor-causing bacteria to survive. While it won't provide clients with a fragranced armpit or help with sweating, it will help to keep it from smelling.
Like most trends, its good to proceed with caution. The armpit is a sensitive area and AHAs can be harsh on the skin, so it's best to do a patch test or just use a natural deodorant if a client's armpit tends to be sensitive.
