Speaking teen is more important than ever, as a significant number of young people graduate early via homeschooling (some in their mid-teens), secure college degrees during high school with dual-enrollment, and even forego or postpone college to enter the job market. Many teenagers in their early teens no longer rely only on allowance or payments for chores (like we did). They are also joining what were once considered adult-only career related platforms like LinkedIn, Indeed, and even setting up online stores on Amazon, Shopify and more for their own source of income.

Aside from the normal stressors all teens face and valiantly endure, the last year and a half has brought forth increased stress, anxiety and fatigue due to COVID-19, social and political happenings, and other shifts in our global, social and economic climates. Additionally, the requirement of wearing a protective mask has brought forth the new skin care term “maskne” for teens and adults alike.

So, what does this all mean for your business? It presents a timely opportunity to tap into the teen market by learning how to not only speak to teens in a way that is relevant and engaging to them, but also to become their biggest advocate and resource for managing “maskne,” stress, skin changes as they age, breakouts, flareups, and even low self-esteem. Introduce them to a safe haven—a place where they can disconnect, relax and unwind. Connect to experts that can guide them on their ideal path to increased wellness, a path that they can follow for a lifetime of health and a life lived in balance.
