From the moment it opened in the 1920s, Virginia Beach, Va.’s Cavalier Hotel was famous for its high-profile guests—think F. Scott Fitzgerald and John F. Kennedy—and glamorous environs before closing for renovations in 2013. Now, after an $85 million face lift, the hotel has reopened to the public—complete with full-service salon and spa Sea Hill.
Decorated in earthy browns, grays and blues, and accented by some of the hotel’s original columns, Sea Hill Spa includes a salon that can accommodate 13 guests for manicures, blow outs, and a variety of hair services, reports Southside Daily.
The wellness room features a halo tub located next to a quartz sand Gharieni table for psammo therapy and soak treatments. A hydrotherapy spa capsule offers hot and cold therapy with Vichy shower heads, therapeutic LED light, steam and vibration massage, so that guest don’t have to get up from a table to shower during the treatment. The spa also offers a variety of massages, including Himalayan salt stone.
Among the more unique offerings Is a bourbon wrap with liquor made next door at the Cavalier’s Tarnished Truth distillery.
Other services include dry and steam saunas and the Blue Lagoon lounge, which offers guests fruit-infused refreshments, plenty of seating and even reading lights.
“Virginia Beach locals and visitors are looking for this type of environment,” spa director Kelly Lanza told the publication. “Coming here is like a vacation.”
