Janelle Wichmann has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer of Revance. Prior to her role at Revance, she held roles at Procter & Gamble (P&G) and Ulta Beauty and has more than 15 years of leadership across beauty, skincare and consumer health spaces. Along with accelerating innovation and strengthening the company’s skincare portfolio, Wichmann will connect clinical skincare and consumer growth.
"I'm very excited to join Revance at this pivotal growth phase and to work alongside this talented leadership team," said Wichmann. "Revance has an exceptional portfolio, and I see tremendous opportunity to connect its differentiated science and innovation with compelling brand experiences that resonate with consumers and drive growth across the business."
Revance was founded in 1999 by Dan Browne, Michael Dake, MD and Jacob Waugh, MD as Essentia Biosystems. Revance’s Aesthetics brands include Daxxify, the RHA Collection by Teoxane, SkinPen, MicroPenEvo, Biojuve and Votesse.
"Janelle joins Revance at an important moment in our evolution, bringing the vision and experience to elevate our Skincare brands while helping shape how we build brands across the enterprise," said Nadeem Moiz. "Her appointment reflects a more connected leadership model that places marketing closer to our strategic decision-making and creates new opportunities to share consumer insights, creative thinking and commercial capabilities across Aesthetics and Skincare. By uniting an expanded leadership team across divisions, we can unlock greater portfolio value and build category-leading brands."
Wichmann said that strengthening Revance’s skincare portfolio comes down to connecting its science directly with modern consumer behaviors. Revance is accelerating growth by optimizing its omnichannel footprint across retail, professional and digital channels, while elevating its creative and media strategies.
“This approach ensures our clinically proven formulas meet consumers and practitioners with seamless consistency wherever they engage," she said.
Wichmann said her time at P&G and Ulta Beauty taught her the power of pairing rigorous brand fundamentals and consumer insights with omnichannel agility. She is applying the lessons of leading rapid multi-category expansion with brands like Native and driving modern turnarounds with Olay at Revance to build high-performing, culturally resonant campaigns grounded in proven science. Those lessons included being able to meet consumers where they are. With Revance, Wichmann is seeing the value in collaborating with dermatologists, aesthetic injectors, and medical professionals through robust clinical data sharing, advisory councils, and continuous medical education. She said healthcare professionals’ endorsement and trust are foundational to Revance’s brands.
“Our goal is to ensure practitioners feel fully equipped with science-backed solutions that deliver measurable outcomes for their patients,” she said. “Our vision is to build a powerhouse, science-first consumer skincare portfolio that bridges the gap between professional dermatology and daily at-home skin health. We want to be the most trusted, outcome-driven skincare partner for both consumers and practitioners.”
Wichmann said the largest opportunity for innovation when it comes to skincare at Revance lies at the intersection of microbiome science, advanced skin barrier protection, and longevity-focused formulations. She added that with cutting-edge assets and clinically proven powerhouses, Revance is uniquely positioned to innovate in bio-active, living skincare technologies and next-generation delivery systems that redefine what topical skincare can achieve.
