America’s Expo for Skin Care & Spa kicked off to an exciting start Saturday, March 28, welcoming spa owners, managers, directors and estheticians, as well as some of the industry’s top suppliers and speakers to the Midwest’s top spa conference and expo.
With an exciting buzz in the air, the 2009 America’s Expo for Skin Care & Spa started Saturday morning with attendees hitting the expo floor and crowding close in manufacturer classrooms, picking up premium products, knowledge and face time. Co-locating once again with America’s Beauty Show at McCormick Place in Chicago, the conference and expo offered attendees the opportunity to learn more about the industry’s top products lines directly from manufacturers, getting up close and personal with on-floor demos and manufacturer classroom examples, and to networking among themselves, sharing industry information and experiences.
In the afternoon, America’s Expo attendees were able to attend the SalonSpa Sustainability Summit, featuring a panel of speakers that included Mary Beth Janssen, Ted Ning, Mary Bemis and Horst Rechelbacher. Speaking to a crowded room of more than 100 beauty industry professionals, the panel offered tips and tricks on becoming a more green and sustainable business—hard-won knowledge they had learned along the way in their journey to becoming more eco-friendly. Panelists also took time to answer questions from the audience at the end of each presentation, inspiring a lively discussion that found those in the crowd also sharing their ideas and eco-initiatives.
All this, and the show is just beginning! More conference, manufacturer and expo options are available at America’s Expo 2009 on Sunday and Monday, allowing spa owners, managers, directors and estheticians to pick up vital information they can implement to generate revenue and sustain the clientele in their spas immediately.
