StyleSeat, the world’s largest marketplace for beauty services and inspiration, has opened its platform beyond just independent stylists to now offer serivce booking for salons. Salons can now list their services, technicians and availability through its salon booking service Booker.

StyleSeat was originally built to aid independent operations and manage and grow their businesses, but the platform has since evolved into helping larger beauty services. By opening up the StyleSeat services to the marketplace, users of the platform can search top-rated salons along with independent stylists, browse salon profiles and services and view real-time availability.

The latest launch also ensures an opportunity to attract new clients and reduce no-shows. This will also aid with repeat business by using automated booking reminders.

“Attracting new clients is one of the biggest, ongoing issues for independents and salons alike, who have traditionally turned to Yelp or Groupon to help reach a new customer base, often at the expense of their bottom line,” said StyleSeat CEO Melody McCloskey. “Our new integration with Booker represents the first step in opening up our platform – and our significant user base – to salons across America and helping this vibrant community better build and grow their businesses.”

This latest development comes after StyleSteat announced its acquisition of BeautyBooked in January 2016. BeautyBooked was a NYC-based discovery and booking platform for high-end salons and spas.
