With the legalization of recreational marijuana just around the corner in California, it seemed only fitting that Amber Vasquez’s presentation, “Going Green in the Treatment Room,” focusing on cannabidiol (CBD) treatments, was the high point of the day for many Face & Body Northern California attendees.

It is Vasquez's goal to break the taboos surrounding cannabis and demonstrate how it can be used successfully in treatment rooms for a variety of skin care needs, including cell rejuvenation and anti-inflammatory.

Hailing from Colorado, Vasquez is currently using cannabis in several treatments at her spa, Amber's Alchemy. She told attendees that her most popular treatment is the cannabis massage, and no it won’t show up on a drug test. She also touched on the use of bath soaks, gels and edibles.

Using cannabis products in spas will add some trendiness and effectiveness to your business and attract customers in a competitive marketplace.

She ended her presentation by urging attendees to do their research, advocate for cannabis skin care products and teach their clients to look past the questionable reputation and be open to the skin care benefits that cannabis may provide.

“We’re the resolution. We’re going to show what it can be used for,” she said.
