When was the last time you took a day to sit down and let yourself be inspired? Barbara Salomone and the Bioelements team were back on the company’s home turf of Chicago recently for the daylong 2007 Bioelements Advanced Product Technology Symposium sponsored by Marshall Salon Services.
Salomone, the company’s president and founder, opened the symposium with her insights about the latest techniques and trends that keep professionals on the leading edge of skin care, and also unveiled inside plans for the new Bioelements Age Coaching class, a new body treatment and Bioelements Vitalization, which is scheduled to launch next month.
“First and foremost, we are caregivers,” Salomone stressed to the audience of skin care professionals. “Estheticians must stay at the forefront of modern skin care science. Gaining a competitive edge in this rapidly evolving industry requires up-to-the-minute knowledge and expertise. With this knowledge, we can give our clients the most effective treatment and care, and that is our most important responsibility.”
Other industry leaders speaking at the event included ingredient guru Rebecca James Gadberry, founder of YG Laboratories, and health and fitness expert JJ Virgin, who shed light on how nutrition and lifestyle directly affect the way skin ages, explaining how spa professionals can teach clients preventive measures to help them achieve younger-looking skin. Throughout the day, attendees
also visited numerous Instant Learning Labs that spotlighted demonstrations of Bioelements’ products to round out their full-day learning experience.
“These labs were a wonderful opportunity to meet the people behind Bioelements,” said Sharren Sakoda, an esthetic instructor at Pivot Point International. “I can’t wait to share with my students what I’ve learned. Events like these keep our vision alive and our clients’ best interests close to our hearts.”
Julie Campbell of the Naperville Skin Institute echoed this sentiment. “Nobody took their eyes off the stage when Rebecca James Gadberry and JJ Virgin were speaking,” she said. “It was like a journey into the beauty and art of esthetics, and the importance of the human touch really came alive. It was inspiring!”
Where will you find your inspiration this month?
I am so pleased to announce the winners of Skin Inc. magazine’s 2007 Best of the Best Awards. Honored at the Networking Box Lunch during Face & Body 2007 at Moscone South in San Francisco on Saturday, August 25, the winners also will be featured in an article that will appear in next month’s issue of Skin Inc. magazine. This year’s neutral judges were pleasantly overwhelmed by the number and quality of the submissions that were received, and we all would like to sincerely thank those who entered in the competition. It’s also important to note that this year’s Supplier categories were independently counted and tallied by an outside accounting firm to ensure credibility.
Congratulations to all the winners!
