Berries in the Spa: More Choice Berries

If you are looking to add berries to your treatment menu, the following are industry suppliers’ products that incorporate the tasty morsels. Please note, however, this is not a comprehensive product list, so always be on the lookout for berries in the ingredients lists of your product choices. And check out the October 2008 Skin Inc. magazine article titled “Berries in the Spa” by Laura Carson Miller for more information on the health berries in the spa.

The Norwegian Antioxidant Neutralizing Masque from YG Laboratories contains both acai and goji berry, and goji berry also helps soothe the skin in a line of Murad products for redness and sensitivity, including the Recovery Treatment Gel and Correcting Moisturizer SPF 15. Also, Sircuit Cosmeceuticals’ Cool Lychee Wa uses the goji berry.

Bearberry is present in the Herbal Soak from Nordic Care. Additionally, Éminence Organic Skin Care includes bearberry in its Stone Crop Serum, Stone Crop Hydrating Gel and Cucumber Eye Gel, and it also uses gooseberry as part of its Gooseberry Black Currant Serum.

Blueberry is offered in a range of spa products, including CosMedix’s Blueberry Jessner Peel and Blueberry Smoothie, the MyChelle Blueberry Antioxidant Mask and YG Laboratories’ Norwegian Blueberry & Honey Hydrating Masque. Éminence also offers a line of products merging blueberry with soy—and often raspberry, as well—with a night recovery cream, sugar scrub, body wash and slimming body wrap being among those available.

CosMedix Pure Enzymes Exfoliating Mask utilizes the healthy properties of cranberry, as does Biotone Spa’s Pomegranate & Cranberry Hydrating Body Lotion, Salt Glow, Buff Crème Body Polish and Body Butter. MyChelle’s White Cranberry Cleanser and Cranberry Mud Mask also get a lift from the red berry, Skin Blends’ Combo Toner includes it too, and Éminence offers Cranberry Pomegranate Sugar Scrub, Cranberry Pomegranate Masque, which also contains gooseberry, and Cranberry Naseberry Yogurt Body Wash. Other products that include cranberry in their ingredients list are Preston Inc.’s Triple Tea Cranberry line, Keyano

Aromatics’ Cranberry Butter Cream, Janssen Cosmeceutical’s Cranberry Face and Body series, and Patricia Felix Skin Care’s Cranberry Bar.

Mulberry is a key ingredient in the Hydra Refine Astringent Pads, Hydra Refine Pore Perfecting Serum and Herbal Astringent from Repêchage, and sea buckthorn berry and hawthorn berry offer their health benefits to Éminence’s Tomato Oil Control Gel.

Naseberry is used in ilike organic skin care’s AHA Fruit Peel and Glycolic Medlar Rejuvenating Treatment from Szép Élet, and body lotion, eye exfoliant, treatment cream and AHA fruit pulp treatment products are all available from Éminence and contain naseberry.

The Night Reform Treatment for Genetic Aging from Murad uses raspberry in its formulation, and MyChelle Love You Lips is available in Cherry Raspberry Pineapple. And combining several berry choices, including sea buckthorn berry and hawthorn berry, Éminence also offers a Raspberry Eye Masque. Additionally, Antiqua Prima Frescare Raspberry-Kiwi Enzyme Mask uses the healthy properties of raspberry, as does Bioelements’ Warm Glow Face Tint.
