Joie de Vivre Salon & Spa, owned by Madeline Gardiner Dupuis, will move into a 5,000-square-foot venue at 307 Jefferson St. in Lafayette, Louisiana. The salon, which was created in 2015, is set to open it's new location by Nov. 1, 2020, and will be the first spa to have a storefront downtown.

"Downtown just works,” Madeline Gardiner Dupuis said in an interview in The Advocate. “I like what’s happening with downtown and with all the businesses opening up. It’s becoming more business-oriented.”

In an interesting twist of fate, Madeline Gardiner Dupuis' sister, Lauren, is also moving into the space with her realty business Parish Realty.

“It was just something we decided to do to help each other out,” Lauren Gardiner said in The Advocate article. “I just like that downtown is starting to grow toward a new, fresh direction. We’ve been to a couple of Opportunity Machine seminars talking about downtown coming back to life. We like where it’s headed.”

Geaux Glo, a med spa owned by a nurse practitioner is also set to move to downtown Lafayette.
