Forbes Travel Guide has announced its 2021 Star Award Winners, comprising of more than 1,500 properties from hotels to restaurants to spas all around the world.
Forbes has rated numerous spas five-stars, but below are just five of the five-start spas around the world, offering luxury amenities and treatments.
1. Acqualina Spa by ESPA
Located in Miami Florida, this spa is designed to be a holistic journey. Treatments range from Targeted Recovery Treatments to aromatherapy massages to ESPA active peel facials.
The spa's new Hydrafacial MD offers a way for guests to purify and exfoliate or reduce sun damage and wrinkles. This includes LED light therapy, lymphatic drainage as well as a deep clean and a scalp massage.
Acqualina Spa's amenities include an outdoor pool, salon and spa shop.
2. Altira Spa
Located in Macau, China, this spa offers numerous water features, from vitality pools to ice fountains and Vichy showers.
The spa's treatments include facials, body rituals, as well as a Sensory Awakening to remove toxins from the body.
The spa has treatments curated for men and services including manicure, pedicures and hair salon offerings.
Altira's highlighted amenity includes its indoor infinity-edge swimming pool with floor to ceiling windows, an outdoor terrace and underwater music.
3. Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre
Located in Paris, France, the spa has 7,500-square-feet equipped with spa, wellness and water amenities.
The center offers a Swiss brand Cellcosmet & Cellmen, which takes a cellular approach to skin care with plant- and marine-based anti-aging formulas, is used in treatments.
Massages range from hot stones to boost circulation to anti-jetlag to help reset the internal clock.
The spa also offers a father-son package, which includes a person training session followed by grooming at the barbershop.
4. The Spa at Four Seasons Toronto
Located in Toronto, Canada, this hotel spa spans more than 30,000 square-feet.
Treatments offered include ones focused on healing such as the Holistic Sapphire Gemstone Facial. This includes numerous precious minerals and gemstones and healing techniques.
The spa's treatment rooms offer blackout curtains for a relaxing retreat. The spa also offers an indoor swimming pool and heated whirlpool, a eucalyptus steam room, a light-filled nail bar and hair salon and a boutique.
5. Spa Montage Los Cabos
Located in Los Cabos, Mexico, the spa spans 40,000 square-feet and offers dramatic design elements. The entrance features a stepping stone pathway through a clear water lagoon.
The spa offers stress-relieving, circulation-enhancing massage, body ritual that begins with agave-fiber body brushing and facials featuring Tata Harper products.
Spa Montage Los Cabos' amenities include an adults-only serenity pool, hydrotherapy areas, outdoor pool, spa shop, salon and tranquil garden lounges.
