Kristy MacCormick was appointed spa director of The Sequoia spa at five-star U.K. hotel The Grove.
Having spent 25 years in the wellness industry, MacCormick previously worked in the Asia Pacific region for 10 years, holding spa director roles with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in Beijing and Tokyo.
While working with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, MacCormick was responsible for the spa at the Tokyo property, which resulted in her receiving the Mandarin Oriental Spa Division Golden Fan Award for personal excellence.
MacCormick also worked with spa management and consultancy firm, Spatality, as well as Onyx Hotel Group, where she rebranded the spa offerings across the group. In the course of her career she also worked for Hilton, Champneys Health Resorts and Kohler.
Once she had returned to the United Kingdom, MacCormick continued with consultancy and pre-opening projects and developed her own nail salon brand, The Nail Yard, in Edinburgh.
MacCormick’s appointment follows The Sequoia spa’s £300,000 refurbishment, which took place in 2018 and added Technogym equipped fitness facilities and new wellbeing offerings, like treatments from ESPA, Natura Bissé, Aesthetics Collective and OSKIA.
