Creativity is taking something old and making it new again, and in the skin care industry, where change is vital, I believe French writer Marcel Proust put it best when he said: “The only real voyage of discovery lies not in finding new landscapes, but in having new eyes.”
I am honored to be the new editor in chief of Skin Inc. magazine. We understand the importance of change and innovation. I have the unique opportunity to present a new way of seeing our industry—through my eyes, through my discoveries and through my many landscapes. I have had the pleasure of working in our vibrant industry for more than 20 years, and I have come full circle, back to a place where my career began: publishing. My career veered into education, trade shows, marketing, distribution, sales and importing professional products to the skin care and beauty industry. I have met so many wonderful people who have touched my life in so many ways, and this is what makes our industry such a passionate one … the power of touch.
One of my roles as your new editor in chief is to provide powerful, precise and explicit content that will motivate you to think differently, unconventionally or from a new perspective. Raising my three beautiful teenagers forever reminds me that we were given two ears and one mouth. By listening to you and sharing your experiences, my hope is that we continually inspire each other to be better people.
Together we can move Skin Inc. magazine in exciting new directions. Life is a collection of experiences; let Skin Inc. continue to be your guide.
P.S. Where has your path led you? I’d love to hear about your career experiences: [email protected], 630-344-6079.
