I know it’s hard to believe, but we only have four months left of 2019! Here are #10Things you can do to prepare for fall and winter.

1. Back to school.

Encouraging clients to bring in their teen for a “back to school’ skin routine is a great way to educate young clients. Offer to speak to high school clubs about skin care and how to keep their hormonal skin in check while they participate in extra curricular activities. Teens tend to learn everything from YouTube, so they usually need the myths to be explained.

2. Exfoliation and peel packages.

As the summer and sun exposure fades, it brings the opportunity for consecutive treatments. Clients receive the results they are looking for, and the skin therapist can relax knowing their client is avoiding the sun.

3. Client appreciation for Thanksgiving.

Give thanks during the month of November and offer a client appreciation promotion for loyal clients. Hosting a pre-holiday party to showcase gift ideas or bring in a guest speaker allows everyone to network and get excited for the upcoming season.

4. Order holiday gift sets.

Planning your holiday gift sets, gift certificate promos and store decorating now will prevent stress when the holidays start ramping up. Talk to your vendors now about potential holiday packages, and be the first on the list to place your order. Holiday sets are limited, and you’ll want to get your requested quantity.

5. Communicate schedule upgrades.

Update your spa schedule for holiday extended hours and closure dates on your website, social media and in spa signage. Communicate with your guests so they can start pre-booking for special events.

6. Calendar any trainings.

Check your continued education credits and make sure you have a plan to complete any required trainings by the end of the year. Also, invite your vendors in to do product knowledge before the holiday gift season starts and capitalize on the “giving season.”

7. Holiday party.

Team holiday parties should be scheduled soon. Not only are the best prices and venues available now, but your team will have other holiday engagements going on as well.

8. Inventory for year end.

Work with your team to schedule a full inventory count for the end of the year. Let your team know the dates and times especially if it is after hours. Make sure to track any lost revenue or shrinkage.

9. End of year sale.

Are there any discontinued products or old packaging that you want to offer to your guests at a discount? This is a great time to clean house and also remove any products that are not selling. Get them off the shelf and make room for the products that sell.

10. Schedule cleaning.

Windows, HVAC vents, carpets, tile, floors and other seasonal cleaning should be scheduled before the end of the year. Paint touch-ups and repairs should be scheduled to avoid disrupting the busy holiday season.

Wherever you are on the planet, enjoy the season change. By implementing any of these #10Things, you are preparing yourself for a profitable and stress-free end to 2019!
