Nuekie has announced its inaugural Nuekie Beauty Durbar, taking place from June 15 - June 16 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center in Hampton, Virginia. The two-day event is a one-of-a-kind celebration of beauty, wellness and cultural heritage tailored specifically to women of color.
Derived from the rich cultural traditions of Africa and South Asia, the term "Durbar" evokes images of royal courts and formal gatherings, infusing the event with a profound sense of cultural significance and heritage. The Nuekie Beauty Durbar aims to honor and celebrate the beauty and wellness of women of color. It serves as a gathering for attendees to explore and embrace their cultural identity while discovering advanced solutions tailored to their specific needs.

The event was founded and led by Eunice Cofie-Obeng, chief cosmetic chemist and founder of Nuekie. Attendees can anticipate an engaging lineup of speakers, including renowned experts in beauty and wellness who will share their insights and expertise on skin care, hair care, make-up, fitness, and wellness relevant to women of color.
With an array of curated vendors offering products and services inspired by diverse cultural influences, the Nuekie Beauty Durbar will provide attendees with the opportunity to discover and experience cutting-edge offerings authentic to them. Attendees will also get a sneak peek into Nuekie’s new product lines that will address acne-prone skin and hyperpigmentation.
“Women of color have typically been left out of the beauty and wellness conversation despite the fact that we have historically been trailblazers in the industry,” says Eunice Cofie-Obeng. “Through the Nuekie Beauty Durbar we want to center their needs with culturally relevant solutions. As a proud advocate for women of color to be included in the beauty and wellness space, I am thrilled to introduce the Nuekie Beauty Durbar—a gathering dedicated to celebrating and honoring the cultural heritage of women of color while empowering them in their beauty and wellness journey. This event is more than just a celebration; it's a testament to the resilience, strength, and beauty of women of color around the world."
