Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa Earns Arc Recertification


Hawaii’s Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa has been recertified by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Arc, a sustainability performance measurement tool.

The resort is the state’s first to attain recertification with the platform, which debuted in 2017, reports Pacific Business News. Hyatt Regency Maui’s sustainability various sustainability initiatives encompass everything from food waste and water reduction to recycling and indoor air quality.

“We are all thrilled to be the first and only resort in Hawaii to increase the certification level from Silver Level LEED-EBOM to Gold Level LEED-EBOM based on performance metrics,” Gary Bulson, director of engineering at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, said in a statement. “A core value at the resort is to protect the environment in as many ways as we can from using solar power to minimizing plastic use throughout the property, controlling food waste and more.”
