For its second location, Miraval has headed to the Lone Star State.
Occupying the site of the former Travaasa Austin, Miraval Austin is situated over 220 acres overlooking Lake Travis, reports Forbes.
Among the facilities—the 21,000 square foot Life in Balance Spa, featuring 30 treatment rooms, saunas, a spa pool, steam room and retail boutique. The spa menu combines staples from the original Tucson location with Texas originals. Among the highlights: Pranayama Dina, which combines breathwork and a “floating” massage, and the Wild Harvest Herbal Healer, where guests can head out to the site’s 10-acre organic farm and hand pick the herbs used for their massage.
The main restaurant, Hilltop Crossings Kitchen, offers healthy takes on Southern classics, utilizing locally-sourced ingredients (other dining options include the Discovery Pool Café and smoothie and coffee bar The Nest).
Wellness programming includes yoga, meditation, nutrition, culinary classes, self-care workshops, art therapy, beekeeping and nutrition workshops. Guests can enjoy guided hikes, practice yoga in a dedicated barn, or get extra physical with slacklining, archery, hatchet throwing or fitness classes held in the 5,600 square foot body Mindfullness Center.
“For over 20 years, Miraval has been dedicated to inspiring total mind, body and spirit wellness by offering guests authentic experiences rooted in mindfulness,” said Marc W. Ellin, global head of Miraval Group, via release. “As we open Miraval Austin, we look forward to welcoming Miraval’s loyal guests, as well new audiences to experience the fulfillment, pleasure and growth that come with a Miraval experience.”
