Forbes Travel Guide has announced its 2019 Star Award winners.

The annual list features 61 of the world’s preeminent hotels, restaurants and spas.

To evaluate, Forbes sent undercover inspectors (footing their own bills), who checked into hotels for a minimum of two nights, posing as ordinary guests. During their stay they tested up to 900 objective standards—such as whether or not they were greeted by curbside within 30-seconds of arrival, or if clothing left around the room was folded neatly after turndown service.

Scores were 75% ratings, 25% quality of facilities.

Eight new Five-Star and 21 new Four-Star spots were named top spas, such as The Spa at The Post Oak Hotel in Houston (Texas’ sole representation on the list); La Prairie Spa at Waldorf Astoria Beverley Hills, which features treatments such as the Diamond Day package and Diamond Perfection Body Treatment, utilizing the luxury skincare range; and The Spa at The Breakers Palm Beach.

International spas receiving recognition include The Bulgari Resort Bali, the Ritz Spa in Lisbon and the Spa at Esperanza in Cabo San Lucas.
