Do you even relax, bro? At the Equinox Hotel in New York City, guests can enjoy extreme relaxation. The “fitness as a lifestyle” leader has opened its first hotel in New York City’s Hudson Yards, marrying two millennial-driven trends: wellness and travel.
The flagship location features 212 rooms and a 60,000-square-foot Equinox Fitness Club—the largest in the world, reports Travel + Leisure. Guests who aren’t already members can join for the day, gaining access to personal training services, group fitness classes, private Pilates and a 25-yard indoor salt water pool, among other amenities.
Through an integrated digital platform, members can access their current workout routines from other Equinox Clubs.
Calibrated as sleep chambers—with precise levels of quiet, darkness and comfort—rooms are kept at 66 degrees Fahrenheit to encourage optimal sleep. Beds are topped with Scandinavian two-duvet style beds; windows are fitted with blackout shade designed to keep 100% of the light out.
At the spa, guests can enjoy vitamin IV-drips, a cryotherapy chamber and ionic balanced.
“Don’t think of us as a hotel with a gym attached to it or a hotel with a great fitness club,” Christopher Norton, CEO of Equinox Hotels, told the publication. “This isn’t two brands running parallel to each other, this is a brand integration and experience that includes the larger experience of staying in a hotel that offers exceptional health and wellness for guests.”
