Making Its Way to Atlanta: The Skin Inc. LIVE! Stage

The Skin Inc. LIVE! Stage will be making its premier at the Face & Body Southeast spa expo and conference. Attendees will be able watch demonstrations and presentations right on the show floor. And with most of the presentations lasting anywhere from 15 to 30 miutes, it gives you enough time to see multiple each day.

Sunday, Oct. 8           

  • Updates on Acne Therapy: Nutritional, Medical and Esthetic Considerations [30-minute presentation]: Medical director of Shah Dermatology and Global Aesthetic Laser Academy, Ayyaz Shah, D.O., will be presenting on acne and the importance of finding the etiologies or causes of breakouts.
  • Rolling out the Red Carpet of Customer Service [15-minute presentation]: Customer service is extremely important in the spa industry, and Renee Kennedy-McCord, SE esthetic instructor, will be presenting on just that. Treating all customers as A-list celebrities will help bring in more profit and retain happy customers.
  • Stem Cell Cellulite Treatment [30-minute presentation]: Goldie Bonnell, with Pevonia, will be demonstrating a stem cell cellulite treatment that can be performed by an esthetician or a massage therapist. Offering this treatment will surely set your set your spa apart from others.
  • The Science and Biology of Beauty [15-min presentation]: Elizabeth Whitaker, M.D., will present on the role of beauty in everyday lives and health, specifically talking about the biology between attractiveness and beauty.
  • Creative Ways Estheticians Can Thrive in Today’s Market [15-minute presentation]: Owner of Elise Esthetics Institute and Spa, Tessa Boyd will discuss the best marketing practices to bring customers to your spa. Boyd is looking for those attending the presentation to “to feel invincible about getting started with their business and/or taking their business to the next level!”

Monday, Oct. 9     

  • Introduction to Thai Yoga Massage [30-minute presentation]: Dawn Sutton will be demonstrating a massage technique originating in India. Ideal for stiffness relief, increased range of motion and balancing of human energy, the technique combines assisted stretching with gentle compressions to clothed clients on a comfortable floor mat. Sutton hopes to “captivate the attendees with a brief history of one of the oldest holistic therapies in ancient world history, Thai massage.” During the presentation attendees will become familiar with the opening prayers and cleansing rituals performed before each treatment is administered.”
  • High Customer Satisfaction & Sales—Keys to a Thriving Business [15-minute presentation]: Brand development coordinator, Julia Perales will be presenting on the importance of high-quality customer service and will share how you can implement new practices to push your business to the next level. Perales mentioned that “my focus on attentive customer service as the driver of sales” is what makes her presentation unique.
  • New Ingredient Technology in Skin Lightening [30-minute presentation]: In this presentation, Michael Pugliese, of Circadia, will be exploring the mechanisms of melanin formation and melanocyte function, along with hyper/hypo pigmentation. New methods to reduce melanin will be shown, as well as treatments for melasma and photo damage.
