It is officially reading by the fire season. Recently, I got back into reading, and winter is the perfect time to curl up with a good book and relax. With the cold weather coming on extra strong, I wanted to tailor my Editor’s note to winter products that pair with different book genres this month. So, now you can curl up with a good book and your favorite skin care product to stay glowy all winter long. Don’t miss out on all of the winter protocols we share in our Protocols in Practice to get you fully prepared for the colder temperatures to come.

1. Contemporary Romance

One of my favorite contemporary romance tropes is the grumpy-sunshine trope where one of the main characters is always grumpy and the other is a ray of sunshine. Speaking of sunshine, one of the most important skin care products you NEED all winter long is your SPF. I’ve been loving the TiZO Mineral Stick because it is super easy to travel with during the busy season, and gives a nice glow and tint to the skin.

2. Mystery

You know what I want to be a mystery? My age. That is why keeping my healthy-aging routine going during the winter months is extra important. I love Guinot’s Overnight Age Refill Summum Mask because it keeps my skin hydrated throughout the night while delivering anti-aging benefits.

3. Fantasy

There is always one thing I love to see in a good fantasy book—dragons! However, when it comes to my skin, the last thing I want is to feel, or look, scaly. That is why having a good exfoliant for the winter is crucial! I love the Elemis Pro-Collagen Glow Boost Exfoliator to scrub away any dry or flaky skin, giving me a radiance boost.

4. Science Fiction

If we’re talking science, skin care definitely has a lot of that (but hold the fiction). One product that really takes ingredient science to the next level and is key for keeping the skin hydrated all winter is the Germaine de Capuccini Timexpert Hydraluronic 3D Force Serum, which uses a patented H.L.G. Nanopolymer to allow a sustained release of ingredients to nourish the skin. I mean talk about science!

5. Self-Help

When I think of self-help, I can’t help but think of self-care. I mean what better way to prioritize yourself than to take some time to care for your skin, especially with a product that can aid in manifesting inner peace. This is why I love the Crystal Hills Organics Dreams Body Serum. It hydrates the skin through the use of lavender, ylang-ylang and geranium essential oils, and it uses amethyst crystal to relieve stress and tension.
