As a waxing professional, you know that some clients may be more sensitive than others and have the potential to have post waxing irritation such as folliculitis. In order to help reduce and prevent this from happening, LYCON recommends a few steps to take. Be sure to watch these steps in action in the video below.
Step 1. Pre- and Post-Cleanse
Always cleanse the area to be waxed with LYCOtane Cleanser prior to waxing and immediately after waxing. This will help to close the hair follicles and reduce any debris from entering the pores. When we perform waxing services, the hair follicle is opened, so it is important to cleanse the skin prior to waxing to ensure all lotions, makeup and dirt particles are not on the skin. Cleansing the skin immediately after the wax helps to further ensure the follicles close and reduces the risk of irritation.
Step 2. Cold Compress
A cold wet compress is also a great way to further soothe and cool the skin after a wax. This will help minimize redness and reduce any inflammation.
Step 3. Ingrown Solution
Next apply the Ingrown X It Solution spray to the skin which contains active ingredients such as Salicylic Acid to help prevent ingrown hairs and bumps caused from waxing.
Step 4. Soothe With Lotion
Finish with an after-care lotion such as LYCON’s Tea Tree Soothe lotion. Tea tree is excellent for the skin post-waxing as it has antibacterial effects and can reduce irritation. The Tea Tree Soothe lotion is extra light and can be applied to any area on the body. It is excellent for extra sensitive clients.
Step 5. Don't Skip Home Care
Don’t forget to remind your clients of the importance of home care in between waxing services. LYCON has an extensive range of home care retail products designed to help reduce waxing irritation and make the overall waxing service more comfortable.
