BASF is expanding its personal care portfolio with a series of high-performance, sustainability-driven ingredient launches spanning hair care, skin care and sun care. The new lineup combines biotechnology, upcycling and biomass balance approaches with clinically backed efficacy, targeting key consumer demands including hair density, scalp and skin health, anti-aging performance and reduced environmental impact.

Aloversil is a natural-origin active developed to support the appearance of denser, fuller hair in men experiencing visible shedding. Derived from upcycled sea buckthorn seedcake, it leverages potent natural peptides to promote a healthier scalp environment. Clinical testing in a four-month, placebo-controlled study showed improved hair coverage and density, supported by instrumental data, while in vitro results indicate enhanced cellular communication and micro-vascularization linked to healthier-looking hair.

Dehyquart S18 is a biodegradable conditioning agent designed as a more sustainable alternative to traditional quats. With 78% renewable carbon content, it delivers effective conditioning performance while meeting rising environmental and formulation standards, including vegan and silicone-free concepts. Performance testing shows improved wet and dry combability, enhanced softness at low use levels and reliable frizz control, even in high humidity conditions.

Plantigenix Bisabolol is a biotechnologically produced version of the well-known soothing active, offering high purity and consistent quality while reducing pressure on natural resources. Produced via fermentation, it delivers the biologically active (-)-α bisabolol isomer, supporting skin comfort, calming and tone-evening benefits. With 100% renewable carbon content and a lower carbon footprint versus fossil-based alternatives, it is positioned for sensitive skin applications such as after-sun and scalp care.

Uvinul T 150 X EcoBalanced marks BASF’s first UV filter using a biomass balance approach, significantly reducing product carbon footprint while maintaining proven UVB protection performance. Designed as a drop-in replacement for conventional filters like octocrylene, it requires no reformulation and retains full efficacy. Certified under REDcert² and produced using renewable feedstocks allocated via mass balance, it aligns high-performance sun care with verified sustainability standards.

NeoHelix Regenerate is a peptide-based anti-aging active inspired by biomedical research, targeting collagen repair and skin renewal with precision. Designed to enhance cellular communication and self-repair, it demonstrated a 41% reduction in damaged collagen and a 65% increase in hyaluronic acid levels in vivo, per BASF. Additional clinical results showed visible improvements in skin thickness, firmness and wrinkle appearance, outperforming a benchmark peptide across all measured parameters.

SkinNexus Collag3n is a recombinant collagen fragment produced via vegan yeast fermentation, designed to support collagen “banking” and overall skin structure. Featuring a 100% human-identical sequence, it promotes full-spectrum collagen expression in the extracellular matrix. Clinical studies show improvements in skin firmness, reduced sagging and fewer visible wrinkles within four weeks, outperforming a higher-dose collagen benchmark while offering scalable, cost-effective biotech production.
