Skin Inc.'s Face & Body spa expo and conference has partnered with IMPACT Melanoma to bring its Skinny on Skin certification class to the Face & Body Southeast.
This hour-and-a-half class offers vital information where spa and salon professionals will learn to identify early warning signs of skin cancer. In this class, attendees will learn:
- How to screen for suspicious moles while performing common skin care or salon services
- Gain tips on how to talk to clients about possible findings
- Learn about the hard-to-see areas for melanoma, such as the neck and scalp
“The Skinny on Skin is an educational program focused on teaching beauty industry professionals how to spot suspicious-looking lesions on a client. We’ve been running this training for years and have literally saved lives with it. Attendees learn critical information that allows them to become an advocate and a resource for their clients. Imagine being certified to save a life,” said Meghan Rothschild, of IMPACT Melanoma.
Currently, two sessions of this class are being offered. The first one is on Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M., and the second one on October 9, 2017, from 1:00 to 2:30 PM. Separate registration is required for the event and space is extremely limited.
