Clients come in all shapes, sizes, genders and tones, and it is important for spa practitioners and owners to not only have fundamental knowledge of skin physiology across the board but also shape their business practices and treatments to create an inclusive environment. After all, we are caring practitioners who provide healing and health to everyone.

Face & Body Southeast, taking place in Atlanta, from Feb. 8-10, 2020, recognized the importance of shaping an inclusive spa environment, and we are offering a host of educational classes for attendees to help them on their journey. See what classes we have in store for you for this upcoming show.

The Black Traveler's Influence on Beauty, 9:00 - 10:00 am FREE

Pamela Springer, Sherrie Tennessee and Sheretha Bell

We are going to start Sunday off with an inspiring keynote that will focus on a highly untapped market in the beauty industry. Pamela Springer, founder Global Skin Solutions, Sherrie Tennessee, education director Spa SOS, and Sheretha Bell, VP of Marketing Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau, will come together to get you questioning whether your spa has service options for all clients whether they are local or traveling.

It is estimated that 17% of African Americans travel internationally at least once a year and locally six times a year, according to Mandala Research. The black travel industry is also estimated to be a $63 billion dollar industry in the U.S. The travel industry provides a great revenue for spas, particularly larger day spas, resort spas and hotel spas. Attend this keynote panel and find out what the black traveler is looking for in salon/spa services, what services need to be altered and how marketing should be adjusted accordingly.
