EpicLight Beauty was launched by Patricia Gallardo and Saima Rathor in 2022, when the two women wanted makeup that complemented the investment they were making in their skin with treatments and skincare. Their goal was to create products that felt and looked beautiful on evolving skin and offered skincare benefits.
“We were in our 40s and realized that the makeup we had used for years simply wasn't working the same way on our skin anymore. At the same time, we were investing more than ever in skincare, treatments and taking care of our skin,” Gallardo and Rathor said.
EpicLight’s philosophy is that makeup and skincare shouldn't have to exist in two separate worlds. The products are formulated specifically with beautiful color, immediate payoff, as well as thoughtful skincare ingredients and textures that work with the skin rather than fighting against it.
The Lip Flip Treatment Balm and Tints combine color and shine with peptide-powered lip care. The Lip Flip Treatment Balm is being applied during and after services at Pendry Natirar Spa. The balm and other EpicLight products are available at select spa, resort and wellness destinations. Gallardo and Rathor see the natural connection between EpicLight and the professional skincare world.
“The woman who is investing in facials, treatments, and professional skincare is often the same woman we created EpicLight for. She cares about her skin. She's taking care of it. And when she leaves the treatment room, she doesn't suddenly stop caring about what goes on her face,” they said.
Gallardo and Rathor believe estheticians and spa professionals can use EpicLight as a way to extend the skincare conversation into makeup that complements the work they’re already doing with their clients. Because there is already a deep level of trust between a client and their esthetician, because they know their client’s skin, the recommendation of products carries more weight. They see the inclusion of EpicLight products in a service as an addition to the experience and can provide retail opportunities after a treatment.
“The treatment room is such a natural place for discovery because the client is already thinking about her skin and is open to learning. Rather than simply seeing a product sitting on a retail shelf on the way out, she has the opportunity to experience it as part of the service,” they said. “For EpicLight, that could be as simple as finishing a treatment with a touch of Luminizing Glow Gel or Lip Flip Treatment Balm. The client can see and feel the product on her own skin, and the recommendation becomes part of the experience rather than a sales pitch. I think that makes retail feel much more organic.”
