Agrana Beteiligungs-AG has agreed to acquire 100% of Austrian flavor and food solutions specialist Esarom, expanding its capabilities in flavors and beverage solutions.
Based in Oberrohrbach, Austria, Esarom develops and produces flavors, bases, powders, emulsions, functional blends and stabilizers for the food and beverage sector. The company operates two Austrian production sites, employs nearly 400 people and generated approximately €112 million in revenue in fiscal 2025.
The acquisition supports Agrana’s growth strategy for its food and beverage solutions business and adds Esarom’s formulation expertise, export reach and established customer relationships to the group.
The transaction values Esarom at an enterprise value of approximately €150 million, based on an EBITDA multiple of 9.0x. Closing is targeted for the beginning of Agrana’s 2027-2028 financial year, subject to signing of the share purchase agreement and regulatory approval.
