Skin Inc. (SI): How did you get started in the industry?
Angelica Caravella (AC): My aunt owned a salon in Laguna Beach, CA where I was growing up. There, I worked as a receptionist as one of my very first jobs, and I fell completely in love with the beauty industry from the atmosphere, the smells, the way clients would feel after receiving a service. I knew at that age of 16 that I would be a part of the beauty industry. In college, I was the friend everyone came to do their makeup for a night out or shape their eyebrows. After graduating college, I obtained my esthetician license, and I’ve been working in the treatment room ever since for more than 15 years.
