Travel experts at money.co.uk conducted a study that revealed Paris as the top spa destination, with 965 spas in the city. Following Paris is Barcelona, which offers 5.93 spas per km, and Brussels with 2.21 spas for every square kilometer.
By analyzing TripAdvisor data, the experts found that the number of spas and the top-rated spas in every major city were in the UK, EU, US and Canada. Europe has 9 of the top 10 spa destinations, with 3 of the top 10 found in France. With a spa every 9.19 kilometers, Paris offers visitors a plethora of relaxation destinations. The top-rated spa in Paris is Molitor Spa by Clarins, which offers day spa passes for locals and tourists alike.
Barcelona contains more than 605 spas in total. It also has one of the lowest starting prices for top-rated spas. Brussels has 73 spas within the city. One of those is Bath & Barley, which offers a unique experience that gives guests access to treatments rooms in a centuries-old Belgium cellar. There, they can soak in handmade oak tubs filled with beer-fermented water, and then lie in a straw bed after the bathing treatment.
There are five destinations on the top 20 list that are outside of Europe including: Vancouver, Canada, (fifth place), Honolulu (13th), New York City (15th), Miami and San Francisco (18th).
