Editor’s Note: Skin Inc. magazine recommends that skin care professionals obtain the proper training before offering any new treatments or services.

Winter weather can stir up all kinds of trouble for the skin, often bringing with it a slew of seasonal villains that can leave skin feeling beat up.

There is Jack Frost, a cold character who often leaves skin feeling dull and dry, and his evil sidekick, Doctor Wind, who often joins Frost, whipping up icy blasts that cause skin to become brittle and crack. And do not forget Stress Man, a spirit with the unique ability to stir up hectic holiday situations that range from difficult family members to frantic fights for the season’s must-have toy.

Treatment How-to: Carrot-E-Chop Facial

Cost: $65

Duration: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

1 carrot

2 tablespoons honey

4 drops of vitamin E oil

1 teaspoon aloe vera gel

Oat flour

Supplies:

Medium-sized bowl

Large spoon

Step 1: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the carrot, cooked and mashed, with the honey, vitamin E oil and aloe vera gel.

Step 2: Mix ingredients with a large spoon, stopping when it forms a thick, orange paste. If the mixture appears too thin, add a small amount of oat flour, which acts as a thickening agent.

Step 3: Apply the mask in a thick coat evenly across the face, and let sit for approximately 30 minutes.

Step 4: Upon removing the mask, your client’s skin should feel moisturized and rejuvenated. It will appear brighter, more toned and firmer—and ready to go for round two against Jack Frost.
