Treatment How-to: The Mayaimi Tropical Feet Treat

Mayaimi the indigenous word after which the city Miami is named, means “very large lake” and probably refers to Lake Okeechobee.

This Miami inspired treat for the feet uses only Miami-grown ingredients, beginning with a nourishing coconut milk foot bath, followed by a fresh key lime organic sugar scrub and ending with a moisturizing massage with luxuriously rich virgin coconut oil.

Duration:: 50 minutes

Cost:: $95

Ingredients:

Coconut milk

4 limes cut in halves

3 tablespoons organic sugar

1 tablespoon honey

1/2 ounce of virgin coconut oil

Step 1. Fill up a pedicure tub with warm water and add one cup of coconut milk.

Step 2. Ease client's feet into the tub and let soak for 10 minutes.

Step 3. During this time, in a bowl, mix the sugar, honey and a few drops of coconut oil. Mix well to create the consistency of a scrubbing mask.

Step 4. Remove both feet and massage the mixture onto the both feet, one at a time, in a circular motion, moving up to the calves and especially concentrating in the dryer areas up to the knee.

Step 5. Using two lime halves for each leg, massage in a circular motion moving up from foot to knee, releasing the lime juice as you apply it to the skin.

Step 6. Let the mixture and lime juice sit for 5-10 minutes.

Step 7. Rinse legs and pat them dry with towel.

Step 8. Place a small amount, about the size of a quarter, of coconut oil in the palm of your hand.

Step 9. Mix product in your hands and start applying to the sole of each foot, one at a time, followed by the heels, moving up to the ankles, calves and toward the knee. Massage each leg for approximately five minutes.

Step 10. Wrap each foot in warm towels and let sit for 5-10 minutes.

Step 11. Remove any oil excess with the towels and conclude the treatment.
