Since 1998, when Cortright and her husband founded Spa Gregorie’s, she has successfully led the company to the forefront of the Southern California spa scene. With both leadership and marketing skills, she has brought Spa Gregorie’s to the top of industry standards for revenues, profits, client and staff retention, and retail sales.
President, San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology
As the founderand owner of the San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology since 2002, Deedee Crossett is an industry pioneer who raises the bar of undergraduate education for estheticians and cosmetologists. After graduating from Washington State University with a bachelor’s degree in communications and an emphasis in public relations, Crossett spent approximately eight years working in marketing and sales promotions for both public and venture-backed companies, including a position at Kinko’s, now a division of FedEx. Desiring a career change, she obtained her esthetic license in 2001 and worked as an esthetician, spa consultant and esthetic trainer. With the goal of opening her own spa, Crossett discovered that well-trained employees are always in demand in the beauty industry. With that in mind, she redirected her energy from owning her own spa to creating a superior undergraduate esthetics and cosmetology school in San Francisco. Currently, she serves as president of the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology and has a seat on Vitality’s board of directors in San Francisco.
