With the final days of 2016 approaching, here are #10things you can do right now to prepare for the new year.

1. Take stock.

Take a full inventory of retail and back bar. Be prepared to claim any losses and mark soon-to-expire items and old packaging for an end-of-year sale.

2. Organize clients.

Clean up your database, merging duplicates in your software system. Remove consultation cards for guests who have not been in for over 18 to 24 months. Check with the statute of limitations in your state; in most cases, it is a year.

3. Clean house.

Want the rest of the story? Simply sign up. It’s easy. Plus, it only takes 1 minute and it’s free!

Create a 2017 facility schedule. Deep clean air ducts, water filters, AC filters, floors and windows. You’ll be able to budget these items and keep your space healthy and fresh.

4. Note accomplishments.

Reflect on 2016. What are you most proud of?

5. Jot down goals.

Daydream for the future. What do you want to improve in 2017?

6. Declutter staff space.

Clean out the spa fridge and cabinets in the staff kitchen. Remove all the old food and mismatched plasticware.

7. Update first aid.

Double check your first aid kit and discard anything expired.

8. Check linens.

Spot check all spa linens. Donate damaged items to your local animal shelter.

9. Give a gift.

Have small gifts with your menu available at the service desk and in your bag during the entire month. Thank everyone from your UPS delivery to your barrista with this impromptu gift for a great year. Have these gifts ready to share at a moment’s notice.

10. Take down the tinsel.

Make sure the holiday decorations come down on time, so you can start the new year with a
fresh, clean space.

Thank you for another amazing year and enjoy the last month of 2016! Cheers to 2017!
