A building in Galva, Kansas with a whole lot of history has gotten a face lift—figuratively and literally—reports the McPherson Sentinel.

Teia Janzen has opened Spa Teia in one of the town’s oldest buildings. The spa offers body treatments, chemical peels, facials, lash extensions, professional makeup and waxing.

Janzen, who was a nurse for 25 years, went back to school with the hopes of entering a field where she could still care for others, albeit with a lower level of stress.

The spa also has a massage room; Janzen told the publication she hopes to offer massage several days a week. She’s also looking to organize parties to teach young makeup lovers application tips.

The building, built in the 1800s, has served as everything from a gallery and museum to a supermarket, and has burned down and been rebuilt more than once. Janzen bought the building in 2017, and spearheaded its renovation. Now, it offers a 17-foot ceiling, dark hardwood floors, large windows and tin ceiling tiles.

“It has the original floor and the original ceiling, so I wanted to make it all go together,” Janzen told the publication. “I wanted it to be very welcoming and relaxing.”
