Spa & Supplier Awards & Recognition for October

ESSpa Kozmetika Organic Skincare of Pittsburgh, was named Best Spa 2012 in the Best of Pittsburgh awards held by Pittsburgh Magazine. Repêchage hosted its 14th annual International Congress for Salon & Spa Professionals, welcoming more than 120 professionals to a full-day launch event and awards luncheon in New York in July. Company president and founder, Lydia Sarfati, kicked off the event by introducing the company’s new Hydra-Amino18 Hair Spa Professional Treatment and Products, to help bridge hair and skin services, as well as the EuraFace Action Professional Equipment by Lydia Sarfati. Milady and the Cosmetology Educators of America (CEA), the educational committee of the American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS), announced Melea Blakely as the recipient of the 2012 Nicholas F. Cimaglia Educator of the Year Award. The award is given annually to an educator who exhibits significant contributions toward upgrading the professional standards of educational excellence, particularly within the area of student involvement. Prizes included an all-expense-paid trip to the CEA convention in Orlando, as well as $2,500 and gifts from Milady.

Also at the convention, The Beauty Changes Lives Foundation awarded a day of mentoring with an industry icon to four beauty students enrolled in AACS member schools.
