Autumn is my favorite season, hands down. I love football; hearty soups and stews; big, cozy sweaters; and enjoying the enchanting beauty of nature as it approaches the frozen months of winter. One of my favorite parts of living in the Midwest is enjoying the various seasons in all their glory! When Indian summer finally cooled off late last week, as I stepped out of my house and filled my lungs with the crisp, cool fall air, I came to a decision.
Although I’ve always enjoyed photography, I’ve never spent much time or money on the hobby, so I made up my mind to ask for a nice, professional camera for Christmas from my husband. However, last week, I decided to not put it off any longer. I had a little extra cash and, after thinking about it, I wanted to seize the day and take photographs of all the beauty fall had to offer ... as well as the cuteness of our new puppy and my growing boys! By Christmas, Jazz won’t be a puppy anymore and the boys will be a little bigger ... and I will have missed a chance to document these important memories. So I did it, and haven’t regretted my purchase for a second.
Expand your abilities
Everyone has something they are putting off or not exploring due to a variety of reasons, usually related to a lack of time and money. Ask yourself if you will really be missing out if you don’t learn more about aromatherapy or meditation, or even ceramics, the stock market or how to start volunteering! By exploring endeavors that are out of your comfort zone—whether they are skin care-related or not—you are expanding your abilities and embracing life! Don’t
wait until it is more convenient or until you have more money or until Christmas. Grow yourself as an individual and as a citizen of the world, and my guess is—you won’t regret it for a second.
