She has worked at spas in Arizona, California and Washington, and is now the spa manager and an esthetician at NoMi Spa at Park Hyatt Chicago.

Q: What made you decide to go into the skin care industry?

A: “I love every aspect of the spa world—treatments, ambiance, wellness amenities and, most importantly, being able to help clients with positive skin care results. I went to school for esthetics thinking I’d love to sell for a company or own a spa, but once I started, I loved the hands-on time with my clients. I’m blessed to be able to combine the two.”

Skin care mentor

“I have many mentors that have helped me grow throughout the industry. I’ve been fortunate to work in many different states and spas, and in each location I have had great leaders and mentors guiding me on this journey.”

Finding inspiration

“I am truly inspired by the entire spa industry ... [I] am inspired by all the new and amazing spa concepts and product companies out there. There is this wonderful world of health and wellness, and I get to work, embrace and share the culture every day.”

Staying current

“I love continuing education classes—The International Dermal Institute is my staple because they have locations in many of the cities I have lived, and they teach about skin—not just their products.”

Client feedback

“I always hear how relaxing the treatment was—and [clients don’t know] why they don’t do this more often!”
