Probiotics are growing—the global probiotic cosmetic products market, that is. A recent report from Research and Markets has forecasted the market to grow at a CAGR of 7.79% from 2018–2022.

These skin-benefiting microorganisms are especially in demand for their application to multifunctional products, since they can treat various concerns, including:

  • Wrinkles and fine lines;
  • Eczema;
  • Rosacea;
  • Acne;
  • Inflammation; and
  • Oxidative stress.

Additionally, probiotics have been suggested to help prevent depression when taken internally as food or supplements.
