Eau Thermal Avène has launched their #AveneHope program in honor of October being Eczema Awareness Month.

The #AveneHope program’s main objective is to send patients to the Avène Hydrotherapy Center located in the South of France. This dermatology facility specializes in the treatment of various skin conditions including eczema, atopic dermatitis, rosacea, psoriasis and burns. They attribute the success of the facility to the nearby Sainte Odile Spring, which contains a pure thermal water with a unique biological and mineral composition that is used in their treatments.

The #AveneHope program came to be after an 11-year old boy named Aidan Moffett visited the Avène Hydrotherapy Center to find relief from his atopic dermatitis, a severe form of eczema that he had suffered from almost all his life.

Moffett was resistant to most therapies and topical steroids usually prescribed for a condition such as his. Due to the vulnerability of his skin, he was unable to attend school or lead the normal life of an 11-year old. During his time at the Avène Hydrotherapy Center, dermatologists were able to discover a solution for his Atopic Dermatitis using Avène’s skin care products.

To help send another patient to the Avène Hydrotherapy Center, Avène is urging people to sign the pledge, found on aveneusa.com/hope, to share Aidan’s story. The goal is to reach 30,000 signatures, with each pledge representing every 1,000 people suffering eczema in the United States, 30 million in total. After signing the pledge, visitors to the website can then share the link using #AveneHope and @aveneusa to spread the word.
