Canyon Ranch in Arizona

History of Canyon Ranch

Mel and Enid Zuckerman launched their flagship Canyon Ranch in Tuscon, Arizona in 1979. From there, they have opened numerous locations and brands spanning from Lenox, Massachusetts to Kaplankaya, Turkey. Canyon Ranch is first and foremost focused on being a health resort and tackles overall wellness comprehensively by hiring board-certified physicians, registered dieticians, exercise physiologists and licensed therapists.

Looking to the Future

With the departure of the founders, Canyon Ranch will be under the leadership of CEO Susan Docherty. Prior to working at Canyon Ranch, she worked for General Motors for 30 years. During her time at Canyon Ranch, she has launched a SpaClub at Sea with Regent Seven Seas Explorer and helped with the development of Residences at Bellefontaine.

“I was drawn to Canyon Ranch because of its pioneering spirit and vision. I want to ensure that this cherished and respected brand thrives and evolves, impacting the physical, mental and spiritual lives of new audiences domestically and globally. Canyon Ranch remains a fast-growing and forward-looking company that remains fiercely devoted to the mission set forth by its founders: providing transformative wellness to enable people to live their fullest lives,” Susan Docherty said.
