Repêchage and The Migraine Research Foundation (MRF) have combined forces to raise proceeds for MRF during June’s Migraine Awareness Month.

Migraine is a disease that truly needs awareness and support, and Repêchage is enthusiastic about helping MRF organize with Repêchage salons and spas to help people feel good while raising money for a fantastic cause. Salons and spas will be participating and holding events throughout the month of June, highlighting a new treatment called “Repêchage Sweet Relief.” Clients will enjoy a scalp massage followed by a lymphatic face massage. Lymphatic massage is known to help relieve pain, boost the immune system and promote the body’s own healing mechanisms. Clients will feel even better knowing that the participating spa they visit will donate a portion of the treatment cost to MRF.

The Migraine Research Foundation is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2006 with the mission of funding research into migraine causes and improved treatment options. Migraine is an extraordinarily common disease, with over 10% of the population or 1 in 10 Americans being affected, but amazingly the cause of the disease is still unknown and about half of all migraine sufferers are never diagnosed. These shocking statistics have motivated MRF to raise money to help fund much needed research to further analyze this disease. Money raised by the organization provides grants for seed funding to researchers through a competitive process; MRF solicits research proposals that will ultimately lead to better treatment and quality of life for sufferers which are then reviewed by MRF’s Medical Advisory Board.

Numerous Repêchage salons and spas have already jumped on board! Those showing their support for Migraine Awareness Month include Vito Mazza Salon & Spa in Woodbridge, NJ; Three-13 Salon, Spa & Boutique in Marietta, GA; Leah Chavie Skincare Boutique in Chicago, IL; Lovella Salon in New York, NY; and Christie & Co. Salon & Spa in Flushing, NY.

“Repêchage is proud to help spread knowledge about migraine as it is a disease that impacts so many people on a daily basis. Massage treatments can really help soothe some of the discomfort associated with these powerful and chronic headaches and planning these fundraising events seemed like the perfect way to bring awareness and relief at the same time,” said Shiri Sarfati, Repêchage vice president.
