Thinking about holding a local charity event? You can take some cues from Judy and Andrew Williams, owners of Spada Salon and Day Spa, who raised $33,000 at their annual charity event, Spada-thon. The fundraiser beat their previous record of $23,000 from 2015. The funds were split between Golisano Children’s Hospital and PACE Center for Girls.

Admission to the event required a new or gently-worn dress or $5. The dresses were donated to Love That Dress!, a fundraiser that raised more than $120,000 for PACE Center for Girls last year. This year, 500 dresses were collected from SPADA-thon’s event.

Guests at the event could choose from mini services such as eyebrow and lip waxing, manicures, chair massages, reflexology, Botox and even Tarot card readings. The event also hosted a poker tournament.
