Florida Academy is planning to expand its skin care program to include a partnership with Azul Cosmetic Surgery and Medical Spa and Trilogy Laboratories, a producer of private-label skin care products.

L.J. Zielke, owner of Florida Academy, states that the partnership will cause a valued progression of the academy’s offerings.

“We’re committed to excellence, and know this will raise the bar for what our students will learn and be able to offer their future clients,” said Sharon Houseman, director of education. “This partnership will propel students’ education, placement and course offerings. They will be able to see the real-life functioning of a medical spa and get a sense of what a career in medical esthetics would be like.”

Kristen Flaharty, M.D., and founder of Trilogy Laboratories, said getting involved with training the next generation of skin care specialists at Florida Academy is a "natural fit."

"Florida Academy will use Trilogy's products and practitioners at Azul Cosmetic Surgery and Medical Spa will provide experience in medical spa technology and pratices," added Flaharty.

Educating since 1992, Florida Academy has students practice with real patients and mirror the steps and ethics of real-world environments.
