The La Jolla Community Planning Association (LJCPA) has approved plans for Spa La V, which will be part of the historical La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla, Calif. The $1 million spa will feature six indoor treatment rooms and two outdoor treatment rooms located on the deck for “experiential” services, such as sea salt massage and aromatherapy.

The spa will occupy the three-story house currently located at 1125 Coast Blvd. Construction is set to begin June 2017, with an anticipated opening date of December 15, 2017, in honor of the hotel’s 91st anniversary.

“It’s rare to have a California Craftsman-style house with ocean-facing windows and we feel that setting is all part of the experience,” La Valencia Hotel managing director, Mark Dibella, said to La Jolla Light.

Remodeling work is slated to include a new elevator, spa facilities, deck, privacy walls and an entry court and will meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
