Spa Snapshot: The Spa at Ginn Reunion Resort

Housed in a quaint, remodeled resort property home, The Spa at the Ginn Reunion Resort in Reunion, Florida, inspires feelings of Si0804 Snapshot Loungewarmth and relaxation as soon as you walk in the door.
Without a spa and facing an increasing demand for one in early 2006, the resort’s management knew it wanted to offer guests a place to seek treatments as soon as possible. So after plucking a model home off the property, the building was remodeled within a scant 45 days to feature five treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge and a second-story balcony with an expansive view of the green, gorgeous Florida location.
The building was generally viewed as a quick-fix solution, but when guests and clients started trickling in for services, the intimate, homey atmosphere—warm, golden décor; cozy chenille chaise lounges; and friendly, helpful team members—was one of its most-raved-about qualities, and the management realized the space’s potential. “We want people to feel that it’s their own place when they come in,” says Jessica Plouffe, spa manager.
To that end, the spa’s team has taken every opportunity to make the facility feel more like home. “From the time clients call, we try to ask as many questions as possible in order to get a good feel from them about what they want during their spa experience,” says Plouffe. “By getting as much information as possible, we can match their desires, and their therapists can even feel as though they are getting to know the clients personally.”
Si0804 Snapshot TreatmentClients have an assigned spa concierge who greets them by name, offers them beverages and snacks, answers any questions or requests, and can even provide advice and support throughout a spa visit, allowing them to develop a comfortable relationship with the spa’s staff.
This also provides an opportunity to have services perfectly matched to every individual. “Our main focus is customized treatments,” says Plouffe. “Our facial line features more than 60 products, so we can create a treatment exactly for clients’ needs.”
The well-trained team also offers customization through its other options, which include massage therapy, manicures and pedicures, and waxing and salon services. And the spa is always open to trying something new in order to meet client whims. “During the past year, business has really picked up, and that’s allowed us to try out new treatments and to develop a new menu,” say Plouffe.
And the visit isn’t over when clients complete their treatments.. People are encouraged to stay for as long as they want at the spa, taking the time to relax and sip tea or a mimosa, cozy up with a throw and a good book, or even to use the peaceful, serene space to catch a little snooze.
The warm, intimate attitude and personalized approach are some of the most favored features of a trip to The Spa at the Ginn Reunion Resort, and although there are plans to move it into a larger building in the near future, the spa’s goal is to always keep the same friendly, relaxing, personal atmosphere. After all, Plouffe says, “Ginn is all about personal customer service.”
