To recognize their dedication in helping people with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis as volunteers, members and donors, the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) elected Matthew Kiselica of Grapevine, Texas, and Benjamin Lockshin, MD, of Rockville, Maryland, to its Board of Directors.

Kiselica, who works in finance in Dallas and has psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, has been actively involved with the Psoriasis Foundation since 2002. He’s a member of the National Psoriasis Foundation Dallas/Fort Worth Division. As an NPF Community Ambassador, Kiselica works to raise the profile of psoriatic disease and increase fundraising, advocacy and awareness about the disease locally. Kiselica also provides support and information to newly diagnosed patients as a Psoriasis One to One mentor.

Additionally, he is active in the Team NPF Walk in Dallas/Fort Worth and has traveled with the Foundation to Washington, D.C., to work with Congress on legislation to improve access to psoriatic disease treatments and increase federal research support. In 2013, the NPF honored Kiselica with the Outstanding Volunteer Leadership Award for his contributions to improving the lives of people with psoriatic disease.

Lockshin has been a National Psoriasis Foundation President’s Council member since 2009. A dermatologist with DermAssociates in Rockville and Silver Spring, Maryland, Lockshin specializes in psoriasis and conducts clinical research trials at his clinic’s Clinical Study Center. He was a charter member of the National Psoriasis Foundation Washington, D.C. Division and served as honorary medical chair for the Foundation’s Walk to Cure Psoriasis in 2013.

As the chair of the D.C. Division’s newly formed Physician Advisory Council, Lockshin will support the organization by helping build relationships with health care providers and associations in the community.

In addition to his private practice, Lockshin is actively involved in resident education at Georgetown University and is the past president of the Washington, D.C. Dermatological Society and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.

As volunteer members of the National Psoriasis Foundation Board of Directors, Kiselica and Lockshin will help direct the organization by evaluating and approving long-term plans, determining goals and providing financial oversight. Board members also work with Randy Beranek, president and CEO of the National Psoriasis Foundation, to accomplish the organization's goals.
