The International SPA Association (ISPA) has announced that they will award LaTesha Council from Alexandria, Virginia, the Mary Tabacchi Scholarship at the 27th annual ISPA Conference & Expo at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas from October 16-18, 2017.

Created in 2006 and later named to honor Mary Tabacchi, Ph. D., the scholarship was created to help students offset education expenses. This year ISPA will award $5,000 for education expenses and provide travel expense for LaTesha Council to attend the 2017 ISPA Conference & Expo.

“I am truly honored to have been selected to receive the 2017 Mary Tabacchi Scholarship,” said Council. “I am committed to completing my education and making a positive impact in the spa industry. Thanks to the generosity of the scholarship, I am one step closer to achieving my goals.”

LaTesha Council is in her second year in the Master of Tourism Administration program at George Washington University. After graduating, she hopes to work in spa operations and development with a long-term goal of owning and operating a spa consulting business.
