Antonella Tosti Awarded First Fredric Brandt Endowed Professorship

Antonella Tosti, M.D., a professor in the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, has been awarded the first Fredric Brandt Endowed Professorship. The $1 million professorship will enable Tosti to continue her research and education in dermatology.

Tosti is known for developing dermoscopy for the diagnosis and care of hair diseases, and she has authored nearly 700 scientific papers.

The professorship is funded by The Dr. Brandt Foundation, a nonprofit organization established in partnership with The Miami Foundation. The professorship is named for Fredric Brandt, M.D., who completed his residency at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and taught medical students for many years. It was created to further his legacy in teaching, skin care innovation and anti-aging research.
