A Good Influence With JoElle Lee

Lee was the speaker for the “Opening Session: My Journey from Chicago to the White House” at Face & Body Midwest on March 22.
JoElle Lee, founder of JoElle SkinCare, is a licensed esthetician, speaker, educator and mentor in the esthetics industry. Lee received her license from Dudley Beauty College in 2000. She is currently the personal esthetician to First Lady, Michelle Obama. As a highly regarded expert in the field, Lee has been featured in national beauty and fashion magazines, and has been a featured guest on radio shows.
Q: What influenced you to go into the skin care industry?
A: “Growing up, I loved skin care products. I was always experimenting with products by putting things on my face and trying to make products in the kitchen ... Later, I met a very successful esthetician, and when I told her my interests, she introduced me to the skin care industry and all of its career options. She became my first mentor and the rest is history.”

“‘I have had a lot of facials over the years, but never one like your’s.’”
Skin care mentor
“I have a few mentors. I need different mentors for different areas of life. When the chips are down, my mentors keep me feeling encouraged, help me to grow, and are always willing to offer additional ideas and success strategies.”
“I subscribe to industry publications and attend industry conferences to increase my education. I also like to visit and look at what other spa industry leaders are doing here and abroad to stay on top of current trends.”
