JoElle Lee, founder of JoElle SkinCare, is a licensed esthetician, speaker, educator and mentor in the esthetics industry. Lee received her license from Dudley Beauty College in 2000. She is currently the personal esthetician to First Lady, Michelle Obama. As a highly regarded expert in the field, Lee has been featured in national beauty and fashion magazines, and has been a featured guest on radio shows.

Q: What influenced you to go into the skin care industry?

A: “Growing up, I loved skin care products. I was always experimenting with products by putting things on my face and trying to make products in the kitchen ... Later, I met a very successful esthetician, and when I told her my interests, she introduced me to the skin care industry and all of its career options. She became my first mentor and the rest is history.”

Finding inspiration

“When you get to the point in your career when you have the opportunity to share your knowledge and gifts, it can fuel the ultimate forms of inspiration, and not just for the person you are inspiring, but for yourself,
as well.”

“I subscribe to industry publications and attend industry conferences to increase my education. I also like to visit and look at what other spa industry leaders are doing here and abroad to stay on top of current trends.”
